The YSSP provides three months of mentored research in Austria for doctoral students working on sustainability challenges. The proposed project must fit an IIASA research group and be feasible within the summer period. It can contribute to a thesis chapter, paper or new research direction. Applicants should contact a relevant group and prepare all information before opening Onlyfy, which does not save progress. Full-time in-person participation is required. Funding depends on the applicant’s nationality and applicable support mechanism rather than a universal award for every admitted participant. Eligibility: Enrolled PhD student, ideally one or two years from completion. Project aligned with IIASA and ability to work independently with mentoring. Funding: Support varies by nationality and funding mechanism. No universal fully funded package is promised; establish the applicable funding route before accepting. Submission: Identify matching IIASA groups and discuss the project with a scientific contact. Deadline: 10 January 2027, 23:00 CET.
