Description

Each year, FUJIFILM funds ambitious photography and video projects through its GFX Challenge Grant Program. The 2026 edition will award fifteen creative grants: five global grants of $10,000 and ten regional grants of $5,000, to help image creators : both amateurs and professionals : bring a project close to their hearts to life. In addition to funding, each winner receives a GFX medium-format camera body and two GF lenses on loan at no cost for the duration of the project, as well as technical mentoring from FUJIFILM experts. Completed projects are showcased by the brand : valuable exposure for a portfolio. The contest is open to residents of the countries and regions listed on the application form, with no professional status requirements; only employees of FUJIFILM and its subsidiaries are excluded. The application consists of a single PDF document of less than 10 MB, in English (or accompanied by a translation), containing three components: a cover letter in the specified format, a detailed project proposal, and a portfolio of previous work. Applications are open from June 16 to August 17, 2026, and the winners will be announced in early 2027. For a documentary photographer, videographer, or visual artist, this is one of the few creative grants available without a burdensome administrative application process : the decision hinges primarily on the strength of the project and the quality of the portfolio.
