INGSA-Africa, the African branch of the international network for scientific advice to governments, is now accepting applications for its 2026–2027 Scientific Advisory Skills Development Program (SASDP). This program trains African researchers for a role that has become strategic: translating research findings into advice that informs public decision-making. Selected participants follow a program combining interactive training, individual mentoring by experienced practitioners, and hands-on exercises: evidence-based policy development, drafting briefs for decision-makers, science communication strategies, and the functioning of advisory systems. Priority areas include health, energy, food security, biodiversity, and digital innovations. The most committed participants may receive support for outreach activities or invitations to international scientific events. The program is open to early- and mid-career African researchers who have earned a Ph.D. within the last ten years, across all disciplines. The application package includes a recent CV and a letter of recommendation from a scientific institution, to be submitted via the official form by August 17, 2026.
