The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the South African Institute of International Affairs offer a pathway combining master’s study with professional experience. The scholar enrols at a partner university in Johannesburg or Cape Town while completing an internship at SAIIA, connecting academic training, research and practical international-affairs work. The award covers full tuition and provides a monthly allowance for accommodation and living costs. Applicants must be no older than 30, meet the relevant master’s admission requirements and must not already have completed the first year of that programme. They must choose one location because duplicate applications are not accepted. The editorial review used the official organisation page. Applicants should prepare the file directly from those instructions, include every requested supporting item and avoid paid intermediaries. The confirmed deadline is 1 September 2026; submitting early leaves time to correct a rejected document or a technical problem before the portal closes.
