The WBG Pioneers programme allows undergraduate students and graduates to contribute to concrete projects within the World Bank Group. Participants work in varied areas such as economics, engineering, social sciences or sustainable development. The programme offers paid positions as well as no-fee options, with assignments based in Washington or in regional offices. Applicants must be citizens of a World Bank member country and demonstrate good command of English. Applications are made through the official careers portal and require a CV, a cover letter and proof of university enrolment. It is possible to apply to a maximum of three positions. Applications are due before 12 August 2026, and it is advisable to target the roles that best match your profile. Given the range of teams involved, a focused application that ties your studies to a specific area is more likely to stand out.
