The African Women Leaders Network (AWLN), a continental initiative supported by the African Union and UN Women, is organizing its 8th intergenerational leadership retreat in Libreville, Gabon, in December 2026. The event will bring together some 40 young women leaders from across the continent and the diaspora, alongside experienced female leaders, to focus on three key areas: strengthening leadership skills, intergenerational mentoring, and collective action for Africa’s transformation. The retreat is open to women aged 18 to 45 who can demonstrate a measurable impact in their communities and are active in one of the network’s six pillars: peace and security, governance, financial inclusion, agriculture, social mobilization, or youth leadership. Participation is fully funded, covering registration, travel, and accommodations. In return, participants commit to becoming ambassadors for the network in their home countries and to leading concrete initiatives following the retreat, in collaboration with the AWLN’s national chapters. Applications must be submitted via the official online form by August 3, 2026; only complete applications will be considered.
