Description

The Commonwealth Blue Charter Incubator has opened its second call for projects addressing ocean challenges and supporting a sustainable blue economy. Grants range from 20,000 to 50,000 pounds per project for activities lasting six to eighteen months. All 56 Commonwealth member countries are eligible, including African members, even though some dedicated funding windows focus on other regions. The lead applicant must be a legally established national or sub-national government entity, such as a ministry, agency or public body with formal government status. NGOs, research institutions, community organisations and businesses are encouraged as partners, but do not replace this lead requirement. Each country may submit at most two applications. Themes include marine pollution, ecosystem restoration, sustainable fisheries and ocean-climate action. The online application closes at 23:59 GMT on 11 December 2026. Preparing answers in the supplied Word template before online submission helps keep the project, budget, partners and implementation schedule consistent.
