The University of Gothenburg's Quality of Government Institute rewards a paper making a strong theoretical and empirical contribution to research on government quality. Relevant subjects include impartial public power, corruption, clientelism, discrimination and favouritism. Authors must be doctoral students or hold a higher academic rank, with an eligible publication or presentation between September 2025 and September 2026. The award offers a one-week research visit to Gothenburg, covering travel and accommodation. The paper must be anonymised and contain no more than 12,000 words excluding references and appendices. A motivation statement of at most one page accompanies the submission, including self-nominations, and documents must be provided as PDFs. Only one paper per author may be proposed before 9 December 2026. Check anonymisation throughout the text and references so the submission follows the published assessment process. This is a research award linked to a scholarly visit, rather than a general scholarship for a degree programme.
