The East African Community student mobility scholarship programme offers 197 study opportunities, from diploma to bachelor, master and PhD, across 28 partner universities. The scheme encourages regional mobility by allowing students to study in an EAC member country other than their own, strengthening integration and academic exchange across the region. The scholarship fully covers academic fees, travel and insurance, and provides research support at advanced levels. Applicants must be nationals of an EAC country, including Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda, and meet the admission criteria of the host university. Applications are made through the dedicated online portal before 20 August 2026. Preparing academic records early helps meet the host institution requirements. Because places are competitive and cover full study cycles, submitting a complete, well-documented file as early as possible is strongly advised.
