Slovak NSP: academic mobility for summer semester 2026-2027

Description

The National Scholarship Programme supports a temporary academic stay in Slovakia, arranged with an eligible host before submission. The proposed programme must identify activities, dates and intended outcomes. Each applicant category has its own documents and permitted duration, so a student application differs from that of an established researcher. Applicants remain responsible for submitting their online application and ensuring the original host invitation reaches SAIA within the stated delivery deadline. Profile: Foreign citizens, including Africans, in an eligible mobility category; this does not fund a full degree in Slovakia. Master’s students or students with at least 2.5 completed years in the same or a similar programme, enrolled outside Slovakia; PhD training must also be outside Slovakia. Acceptance by an eligible host is required. Applicants with at least fifteen months in Slovakia in the previous thirty-six months are excluded; no overlapping publicly funded mobility award for this stay. Timeline

Online deadline: 31 October 2026, 16:00 CET (15:00 UTC).
Students: start between 1 February and 1 April 2027; finish no later than 31 August.
PhD students, teachers, researchers and artists: start 1 February–31 August 2027; finish by 30 November.
Students: full 4–5-month semester or full 3–4-month trimester under the host calendar, within this call’s date limits. Other categories: 1–10 months without exceeding the advertised dates.

Signed acceptance/invitation covering the proposed dates: scan for the online application and original delivered to SAIA.
Students: enrolment confirmation, required degree and two references; PhD students: enrolment, master’s degree, supervisor reference and publications or no-publications statement.
Teachers, researchers and artists: highest degree, publication/activity list and host invitation; follow category-specific documents and translation requirements.

Selection and commitments

Awards depend on quality, relevance and budget, not an automatic entitlement.
The allowance supports living costs; arrange housing, immigration and upfront travel costs.
