Description

The Rhodes Scholarship, one of the most prestigious in the world, sets aside three spots each year for candidates from West Africa to pursue graduate studies at the University of Oxford. Twenty countries and territories are eligible, including Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, and Togo : a major opportunity for French speakers in the region, alongside Nigeria, Ghana, and other English-speaking countries. The scholarship fully funds a master’s or doctoral degree at Oxford: tuition, an annual living allowance, round-trip airfare, and relocation expenses. Beyond the financial support, scholars become part of the Rhodes community : a global network of alumni who hold positions at the highest levels of research, public policy, and entrepreneurship.
