Description

The SADC Media Awards recognise journalism improving understanding of regional integration in southern Africa. The four categories are print, radio, television and photojournalism. Eligible work must have been published or broadcast during 2026 by an authorised media organisation in a member state. Applicants submit through their national coordinator/adjudication committee, rather than treating the regional secretariat’s general contact as an application portal. The official form, nationality evidence, publication evidence and category-specific material are essential parts of the submission. Eligibility: Journalist from a SADC member state with nationality evidence. Work published/broadcast in January–December 2026 by a registered/authorised media outlet. Funding: USD 2,500 first prize and USD 1,000 runner-up prize in each of four categories. Submission: Select the category and check publication date and subject. Eligible publication/broadcast period: January–December 2026.
