The University of Oslo’s Department of Media and Communication is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to study children, young people, and digital media. The position is connected to the Centre for Research on Children, Youth and Media and the international EU Kids Online network. The successful candidate will design and conduct an independent project with clear relevance to EU Kids Online Norway. Possible themes include young people’s digital media use, online opportunities and risks, rights, media regulation, well-being, and digital skills. Access to national and international EU Kids Online datasets may be available, subject to data access procedures and research ethics requirements. The appointment lasts four years and allocates 25 percent of working time to teaching, administration, and career-promoting activities. Applicants need a relevant doctoral degree, or must have submitted the dissertation for evaluation before the deadline, and must communicate fluently in English. Strong empirical methods and a feasible project design are essential. Experience with children, youth, digital technologies, international collaboration, or teaching is advantageous. The advertised annual salary ranges from NOK 595,000 to NOK 677,000 depending on qualifications, with membership in the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.
