The African Leadership Academy offers a two-year residential programme for young African leaders who want to develop their leadership, entrepreneurship and critical thinking skills. This pre-university path prepares students to tackle the continent’s complex challenges through a holistic educational approach, on its Johannesburg campus. The academy looks for curious, courageous profiles with a strong sense of initiative, regardless of socio-economic background. Substantial financial aid is available to the large majority of admitted candidates to cover tuition, accommodation and meals. The programme is for young people aged 13 to 19, born after 1 September 2007. Applications are made online through the official website, with a deadline of 15 January 2027 for the regular round. Illustrating leadership with concrete actions strengthens the application.
