American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship 2027

Description

American University offers two Emerging Global Leader Scholarships covering university-billed tuition, room and board in Washington. The scheme targets incoming international undergraduates committed to positive social change in their home communities. Awards can be renewed for up to four years with satisfactory academic performance. Additional partial scholarships worth up to USD 40,000 per year may also be awarded. Non-billable expenses remain the student’s responsibility: insurance, books, airfare and other costs total approximately USD 4,000 annually. Proof of funds is therefore required even for the main scholarship. US citizens, permanent residents and students who have already started university are ineligible. Check the secondary-school graduation and English proficiency rules as well. The Common Application and supporting materials, together with the EGL responses in the AU portal, must be completed by January 15, 2027. Partial award recipients need additional resources to cover the remaining costs. Follow the official sequence so that admission and scholarship materials are both complete.
