Description

The MAINSTREAM programme offers short-term academic mobility scholarships for Master and PhD students specialising in agriculture and climate resilience. The scheme supports research or course stays at partner universities in Africa and Germany, in order to foster innovation in the face of climate challenges. Applicants must be enrolled in an African university and cannot apply for a mobility in their home country. Funding covers tuition, health insurance and a monthly allowance of 890 euros for Master students and 1,230 euros for PhD students. The application includes a CV, a concept note, a motivation letter and an academic recommendation, to be submitted through the official portal before 22 August 2026. A well-focused concept note strengthens the application, and because the mobility must take place outside your home country, choosing the host institution and dates early really matters.
