The Slovak Ministry of Education is accepting applications for its 2026-2027 scholarship program for talented international students pursuing full-time higher education in Slovakia. The scheme supports bachelor’s degrees, combined bachelor’s and master’s programs, and master’s degrees at selected public or state institutions. Up to 170 first-level scholarships and up to 55 master’s scholarships may be awarded. Recipients receive 500 euros per month for ten months of each academic year. Support may continue for three years at bachelor’s level or two years at master’s level, producing a maximum award of 15,000 euros. Doctoral studies are excluded, and any tuition waiver remains a separate decision made by the host university. Selection is based solely on a standardized test result. Applicants need at least 1,100 on the SAT or an average percentile of 63 across the required SCIO Mathematics and General Academic Prerequisites tests. Candidates must hold citizenship other than Slovak citizenship, satisfy the residence restrictions, and apply to or secure admission in an eligible public study program. The online file includes a certified identity document, required declarations, the SAT or SCIO certificate, a curriculum vitae, and a motivation letter in English. An admission letter should be added when available. Registration is open until July 31, 2026 at 23:59 CEST, and applications must be submitted exclusively through the official scholarship portal.
